Dream of Fame
Dream is a 2006 15.1h bay OTTB gelding. He has been retrained and competed in low-level eventing and jumpers. In March of 2016 he competed at The Maryland Horse Trials and did very well in his Beginner Novice division! He also has been cross-country schooling this year and loved every minute of it. This guy is super sweet and available for adoption to the right home through Sleeping Fox Farm Thoroughbred Rescue.

Sanctuary Horses

Sleeping Fox Farm Thoroughbred Rescue provides long-term rehabilitation and sanctuary facility for select horses. Each horse in our sanctuary program has a special place in our hearts and a good reason for being here. We are currently looking for full- or partial- sponsors for each one of these horses. Please take a minute to read about them below and see if one steals your heart!

2004 bay OTTB mare. This beautiful mare is our foundation horse and the reason we started this program. She was rescued in 2008 without physical trauma. However, due to having major psychological damage, she developed Chronic Ulcer Disease. She was retrained and briefly competed in the hunter-jumper arena. She is loved by all and is now happily living here at SFFTR as a permanent resident.   $350/month full sponsorship or $175/month half sponsorship

Cabernet (aka "Cabby")

2002 bay OTTB mare. This beautiful mare is a Storm Cat granddaughter who spent eight years on the track and was donated to Sleeping Fox Farm when it was decided that she was done with racing. Cabby retired sound but has a lot of stress-related psychological trauma which sadly doesn't allow her to develop into a second career. Cabby is best suited as a companion horse and she is very sweet and easy to work with on the ground. She will spend the rest of her days here at Sleeping Fox Farm Thoroughbred Rescue where she can safely live. Sponsorship for her well-deserved retirement is greatly appreciated! $350/month full sponsorship or $175/month half sponsorship

Lucky Bucky

Paint grade gelding. His date of birth is unknown, but estimated around 1999. “Bucky” was rescued pound for pound in 2002 from an auction house. He is unable to tolerate long-term pain medications due to Navicular syndrome and a prior GI bleed. This gentle guy is an excellent baby sitter and holds the farm together.  $350/month full sponsorship or $175/month half sponsorship

2004 bay OTTB mare. This sweet mare is of AP Indy breeding. She was rescued from starvation in 2009 and is currently our most high-maintenance horse. She is partially blind and has bilateral fractures. At one point, she had to spend over three weeks in the hospital to save her life. She is maintained daily on Previcox to help keep her happy and healthy. $350/month full sponsorship or $175/month half sponsorship

2004 bay OTTB mare. She is a qualified Maryland Million Mare out of Partner’s Hero, the popular Maryland stallion. She was rescued in 2008 from starvation and has bilateral fetlock fractures. Due to these fractures, she requires a daily dose of Previcox as well. $350/month full sponsorship or $175/month half sponsorship

2006 bay OTTB mare. She was rescued in 2009 after a bad trailer accident which led to her permanent retirement. She is a very sweet mare and a good addition to the sanctuary herd. $350/month full sponsorship or $175/month half sponsorship

Wee Red Fox

2010 chestnut Thoroughbred mare. “Foxy” is a granddaughter of Seattle Slew. She is unraced due to a diagnosis of early arthritis in her fetlock and knees. Due to this condition, she will remain here as a permanent resident. $350/month full sponsorship or $175/month half sponsorship
